San Ysidro (Spanish pronunciation: [san iˈsiðɾo]) is a district of the City of San Diego, immediately north of the U.S.-Mexico border. After the 1846 U.S. invasion of Mexico, the U.S. annexed what is now the Southwest U.S. in 1848. San Ysidro found itself on an international border.
