While that is their principal responsibility, there is actually much more to their job description. Prior to collecting a blood sample, a phlebotomist needs to confirm that the tools being utilized are single use only and sterile. Following the collection, the sample has to be correctly labeled with the patient’s information. Afterward, paperwork must be accurately filled out to be able to track the sample from the point of collection through the lab testing process. Many phlebotomists actually work in Milton FL labs and are in charge of making sure that samples are tested properly using the highest quality control procedures. And if those weren’t enough duties, they may be called upon to train other phlebotomists in the drawing, transport and follow-up process.

The quickest answer is wherever there are patients. Their workplaces are numerous and diverse, such as Milton FL medical clinics, hospitals, long-term care facilities, or blood banks. Anything below these minimums may signify that the program is not comprehensive enough to furnish sufficient training.
